James Patterson Lyke was a Franciscan priest, a teacher, a pastor, and the first African-American Bishop in Cleveland. During his eleven years as an Auxiliary Bishop in Cleveland, he worked as a peacemaker, promoting the Catholic values. I attended St. Henry School from kindergarten to eighth grade. Read about how this wonderful school transitioned to Archbishop Lyke Elementary School in 1993. I met this inspirational leader, Archbishop Lyke, when I was a student at St. Henry School.
I attended Benedictine High School in Cleveland from 1982-1986. This proved to be a great experience that helped form me into the man I am today. From Catholic education and academics to forming life-long friendships to learning about team work and excellence on the football field, I will be forever grateful for this chapter in my life.

Attending mass and activities at Kent State University Newman Center was meaningful and enriching to my life as I studied for and earned my Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Studies at Kent State University. I continued to go to mass at the Newman Center for many years after graduation!
I am proud to be a parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hudson. Every week, I am grateful to be blessed and spiritually nourished by Pastor, Fr. Larry, and Parochial Vicar, Fr. Scott.
Thank you to all of these powerful influences in my life!
